Ladder is a strength-training app. You follow coach-designed weekly programs, with in-ear audio, video, and pacing built in. That job is real. It is a different job than capturing food, training and recovery in one app.
FORM is fitness and nutrition. Scan a plate, a barcode, or a menu, or describe the meal. Follow complete workout programs written around how you lift, or log the session you already did. Connect Apple Watch through Apple Health, or other watches through Health Connect. The Health Score is the picture of the day, not an in-ear session.
FORM vs Ladder at a glance
| FORM | Ladder | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Fitness and nutrition in one app | Coach-designed strength programs |
| Food | Plate, barcode, menu, or text in seconds | Not the core product |
| Training | In-app programs plus the session you log | Weekly programs with in-ear coaching |
| Wearables | Apple Health and Health Connect, optional | Apple Watch companion for training |
| Daily picture | Health Score for food, training, rest | The session and the plan |
A training plan is not a meal scan
If you want a coach-designed strength week with audio in your ear, Ladder is built for that attention. FORM will not talk you through a set. It will take a picture of dinner, put the workout on today, and track sleep and recovery on the same date.
If the leak is food logging, Ladder still leaves the plate as a separate chore. FORM’s first move is the camera. Programs exist so training is not a spreadsheet. They do not replace Ladder’s in-ear coaching, and they do not pretend to.
Who each is for
- Pick Ladder if a coach-designed strength program with audio is the product you will pay for, and food already has a home.
- Pick FORM if you want scanning, workout programs, and a health overview in one app, including Android.
You can follow Ladder for sessions and still scan meals in FORM. Two sources of truth is extra work. Most people should pick the loop they will finish after dinner.
